This is Marco Rubio and Ted Cruz's last stand.

Thursday's Republican presidential debate in Houston provided the pair of senators their last, best chance to blunt Donald Trump's momentum ahead of the slate of primaries on Super Tuesday.

And the Florida and Texas senators aggressively engaged Trump over the issue of immigration, as well as his hiring of foreign workers, in their effort to overtake him days before voters head to the polls on March 1.

"You’re the only person on this stage that’s ever been fined for hiring people to work on your projects illegally," Rubio said of Trump.

Rubio didn't let up on the attack, going at Trump in his most forceful way yet in the campaign.

“If he builds the wall the way he built Trump Towers, he’ll be using illegal immigrant labor to do it,” Rubio said, referring to media reports that Trump hired foreign workers over American ones in his business career.

Trump denied any impropriety on his business ventures.

"I’m the only one on this stage that’s hired people," Trump fired back to Rubio, who has spent all of his professional life in politics.

But Rubio didn't let it go.

"I guess there’s a statute of limitation on lies," Rubio said to loud cheers.

Cruz also attacked Trump — saying he's new to the fight against amnesty for immigrants who came to the United States illegally.

"In 2013, when I was leading the fight against the Gang of Eight amnesty bill, where was Donald? He was firing Dennis Rodman on Celebrity Apprentice."

Trump, for his part, defended his past positions.

"I've hired tens of thousands of people," Trump fired back at Rubio. "You’ve had nothing but problems with your credit cards."
