This year Mashable is joining in the fun: we want to help kids get a start in social media. We think it's super-important that kids have the tools they need to become media-literate, creating the next generation of young content creators. From photography to film-making to music and beyond, we want to help kids create all kinds of media. Unfortunately some schools can't afford these high-tech tools, and teachers have posted requests to Donors Choose for the items they need.
The projects we've chosen to support are all media-centric: an iPod touch for a classroom's media center in North Carolina; digital cameras for future photographers in a New Jersey school; mini video cameras for the next generation of filmmakers in Massachusetts ... and lots more!
Here's what we need you to do: head over to the Mashable Donors Choose page any time this month and donate any amount you like. You'll be helping out the next generation of content creators and innovators: we think that's pretty awesome.
