Here's one fun consequence of Dr. Dre joining Apple's ranks after Beats acquisition: the top men of business and technology are now 'down' with the most popular personas in hip hop.

Thus, when Tim Cook (who himself was nominated by Phil Schiller) nominated Dr. Dre for the ALS ice bucket challenge, it was only a matter of time until the hip hop mogul drops some freezing water on his head.

And after taking a cold shower, Dr. Dre also nominated three new names for the challenge: Eminem, Snoop Dogg, and Kendrick Lamar.

It's a small world, indeed.

The folks who take the ice bucket challenge are raising awareness of the ALS Association and its efforts to help people with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), also known as Lou Gehrig’s Disease.

Besides dropping a bucket of water on their heads, most are also donating to the association.

It took Dr. Dre a bit longer than the usual 24 hours to complete the challenge, but we won't hold that against him. The rapper was originally nominated for the challenge on Aug. 15, and he posted the video on Twitter today, Aug.19.

Challenge accepted. Stay tuned @tim_cook— Dr. Dre (@drdre) August 16, 2014
