Drones may be causing some controversy in Australia -- with authorities warning people to keep their toys from disrupting relief efforts during dangerous bushfires -- but they're also capturing stunning images from remote parts of the country few have the chance to visit.

Dan Proud, a photographer from Queensland, has put together a compilation of years of footage shot by drone mainly over Western Australia's Hamersley Range and Karijini National Park.

Most people have heard about the red dirt of the Australian outback, but Proud's drone lets us see the landscape's true range of colours, from shocking orange to deep purple in the twilight.
