Slip into your bed at night, and you don’t know what you’ll find. Crumbs from a late-night snack, underwear from a late-night encounter or a snoozing drunk stranger, drooling on your pillows.

A video which went viral this weekend, shows a man, believed to be from North Vancouver, Canada, coming home to find a stranger in his bed. Instead of calling the cops, the homeowner encourages him to sleep in another bed in the house. “You’re in my bed,” the homeowner gently chides him.

Throughout it all, the stranger refuses to believe him, arguing that it is his bed, and he “pays taxes on it.”

While the city of North Vancouver does not, in fact, have an annual mattress tax, the stranger makes a convincing case. Ultimately, the stranger realizes that he’s actually in his old house, having forgotten that he moved.

The homeowner, who appears to have lovely manners, again offers him a bed. Check out some Canadian kindness for yourself in the video above.
