The Force was strong for Daniel Fleetwood.

Earlier this week, the Internet was overflowing with support for Daniel Fleetwood, a 32-year-old Star Wars superfan, whose dying wish is to see the upcoming film Star Wars: The Force Awakens, which is slated to be released nationwide on December 18. Fleetwood has spindle cell sarcoma, a rare cancer, and was given two months to live back in July.

Thankfully, Fleetwood got support on social media from many Star Wars luminaries -- and finally had his wish granted on Thursday.

Fleetwood's wife Ashley shared on Facebook that Lucasfilm came to their house, and gave Fleetwood his own private viewing of an unedited version of the film.

Thousands offered their support using the hashtag #ForceForDaniel; supporters included celebrities such as Mark Hamill (a.k.a. Luke Skywalker); John Boyega, who will play Finn in the upcoming movie, and Peter Mayhew, the man behind the Chewbacca costume.

I just read this and am elated for Daniel & his family! Thanks to the powers-that-be for making his dream come true. https://t.co/ImiAdyBxf8— Mark Hamill (@HamillHimself) November 5, 2015

Last week, Fleet told his local news station Click 2 Houston: "I really don't think that I'm gonna make it. Please do what you can. Help me."
