This stunning visualization shows major earthquakes globally from the last 15 years

LONDON -- There have been tens of thousands of earthquakes across the globe since the year 2000, and one data visualization company in the UK has attempted to map them.

422 South in Bristol have created a video that they say features all the world's quakes of magnitude 4 or more between 2000 and November 2015, using data from the United States Geological Survey.

It's a mesmerizing watch as orange dots marking quakes, their size relative to the magnitude of the event, stack up cumulatively and trace tectonic plates on a revolving globe.

The agency have created a number of other visualizations, covering everything from the migratory routes of birds in the Yellow Sea to power blackouts in the U.S.
