The majestic echidna, also known as the spiny anteater, is one of two egg-laying mammals currently in existence. Those eggs turn into puggles, which is what they call baby enchidnas (not to be confused with the equally adorable beagle/pug mix, also called puggles).

One such tiny spiny critter was rescued after its burrow was dug up by a bulldozer. The puggle was badly injured, but is recovering in at the Taronga Zoo in Sydney, Australia.

The puggle took to its diet of milk lovingly placed in the palm of its caretaker's hand with an eye dropper, "only stopping to blow milk bubbles out its nose," according to the Taronga Zoo.

The puggle has nearly doubled in size and is building the strength to join in the zoo's wombat and enchidna party.
