LONDON – We don't want to alarm anyone, but an image has surfaced that appears to show Ed Miliband sporting some new facial hair.

The former Labour leader was spotted Thursday at an airport – apparently in Brisbane – with a new (and yes, fairly rugged) coat of stubble.

Friend from school bumped into Ed MIliband at an airport and he's growing a beard. Stay tuned.— Mike Bird (@Birdyword) August 20, 2015

He's looking very swarthy. Could have picked up another 130 constituencies with that salt and pepper growth. pic.twitter.com/xdJrtEamop— Mike Bird (@Birdyword) August 20, 2015

Explanation of the tan/Miliband's very low profile during the leadership election? Photo was taken at Brisbane airport.— Mike Bird (@Birdyword) August 20, 2015

A lot of people were quick to link the new beard with Labour leadership contender Jeremy Corbyn.

@Birdyword that's a Corbyn Tribute Beard— kit juckes (@kitjuckes) August 20, 2015

@Birdyword its the Corbyn effect!!!!!!!— WelshRacer (@Welshracer) August 20, 2015

@Birdyword who is that guy? He looks like a young Jeremy Corbyn.— The Thalesians (@thalesians) August 20, 2015

Mainly, though, the beard just seems to be making everyone really happy.

I feel ashamed of saying this but the Ed Miliband beard really kinda works.— Ryan Hopkins (@RyanHopkins_) August 20, 2015

I've absolutely no shame in saying that @Ed_Miliband looks damn beautiful with a beard! Via @LabourList #milifandom pic.twitter.com/EF3X4USZBD— Gary Spedding (@GarySpedding) August 20, 2015
