LONDON – If there's one thing Ed Sheeran particularly enjoys, it's helping out with marriage proposals.

It's only been a week since Sheeran serenaded Rixton's Jake Roche as he proposed to Little Mix's Jesy Nelson, and the match-making machine is already at it again – this time looking on as Jason Boland, the bassist of Irish band Kodaline, proposed to his girlfriend Etaoin Corr in front of 80,000 people.

Kodaline joined Sheeran onstage during his gig in Dublin on Saturday night, and Sheeran got the ball rolling when he announced: "Jay, from Kodaline, would love to say a few words."

"I'm going to be really embarrassing and ruin someone's life right now, but she's been my best friend since we were about five years old," said Boland, before calling his girlfriend up on stage.

He went on to say he couldn't imagine a day without Corr before asking her to marry him. After she'd said yes, he looked at the crowd and said, "It worked!"

The couple later thanked Sheeran on Twitter.

What a night! Thanks so much @edsheeran for everything! What an amazing way to start the rest of our lives #jayton— Jason Boland (@JayKodaline) July 26, 2015
