On the field, the Patriots' Julian Edelman is a versatile player who has played wide receiver, punt returner, quarterback and defensive back at various points in his football career

But his wealth of talent doesn't end there. Off the field, he is an Internet video mogul who apparently knows how to whip up a mean smoothie.

Edelman has launched a YouTube series called Smoothie Tyme, a follow-up to his popular video Burger Tyme, which he sells T-shirts for on his personal site.

In this second installment, which is also a blender commercial, Edelman teaches viewers how to make a "best friend" smoothie that involves various fruits, almond milk, Greek yogurt, and, of course, protein powder.

Unfortunately Edelman's best friend couldn't make it. "Usually it was Tom Brady, but he 'doesn't have time for my little videos,'" Edelman says jokingly with air quotes.

So he settles for running back Shane Vereen. Punter Ryan Allen also makes a cameo appearance.
