The start of The Walking Dead's new season is about a month away, but a new image from Season 5 has us thinking it may be the best -- and scariest -- season yet.
In the exclusive character portrait below, one of several being released this week, Lauren Cohan's character Maggie is seen seemingly trapped in the boxcar where we last saw the group waiting to be eaten by cannibals at the end of Season 4.

The new season has been teased as one of the most harrowing yet, with the gang going toe-to-toe with the crazies at Terminus.
Even five seasons in, The Walking Dead continues to be a hot property for AMC, with over 15 million viewers tuning in for last season's finale. Season 5 premieres on Oct. 12.
Just last week, AMC ordered a pilot for a possible companion series to the show.
