The Life and Times of Eli Wallach: 9 of His Greatest Movie Roles

American film and television actor Eli Wallach died Tuesday at the age of 98.

The veteran actor has starred in films including The Misfits and Godfather, and classic westerns like The Magnificent Seven and The Good, The Bad and The Ugly. Over the course of 60-plus years of acting, he often appeared onscreen alongside his wife Anne Jackson.

Wallach was awarded an honorary Oscar in November 2010, where he was called "the quintessential chameleon, effortlessly inhabiting a wide range of characters, while putting his inimitable stamp on every role."
