Elizabeth Banks will direct the upcoming Pitch Perfect 3, according to EW. The actress and filmmaker also directed Pitch Perfect 2, so it's a natural fit for her to bring the franchise's third film home.

Last May, Pitch Perfect 2 sang its way to the top of the box office, and had the second highest gross opening for a movie directed by a woman.
Banks has been very vocal about increasing the visibility of female directors, recently nominating herself to direct the next Jurassic World film.

Pitch Perfect 3 will be released on July 21, 2017.
