You get one shot, Beats 1.

When the flagship radio station of Apple Music makes its splashy debut on June 30, Eminem will be its first guest.

Zane Lowe, which The New York Times describes as "Britain’s most influential radio DJ" and the main force guiding Beats 1, announced the choice on Twitter.

Leading with the rapper is a solid, if somewhat safe choice. Eminem has had a long, credible career, as well as mainstream appeal. At the same time, the 42-year-old never fully lost his edginess, getting into a war of words with Iggy Azalea last November over his violent lyrics.

Apple Music debuts on June 30. Users will be able to start using the service after updating their iPhones, iPads or iPod touches to iOS 8.4. Mac and PC users will get the service with an update to iTunes the same day. An Apple Music Android app is due in this fall. Although the service will cost $9.99 to stream songs on demand, access to Beats 1 will be free.
