Emma Watson has told the fashion world they're not doing enough for gender equality.

In an effort to speak for change in a unified voice, Watson created a video with British Vogue to start the conversation among fashion tastemakers. Designers such as Stella McCartney, Bella Freud and Jonathan Saunders weigh in on the industry's role.

While news of models and insiders applying pressure for racial fairness has become more frequent, Watson has been stepping up to champion the cause for gender equality. The HeForShe initiative that she launched last year petitions both men and women to take action.

The organization seeks "gender equality that brings together one half of humanity in support of the other half of humanity, for the benefit of all."

In the video, Stella McCartney says she believes that fashion is a major component in bringing forth a revolution on this front.

She says, "We need to give a better message to women of all ages, all sizes and all nationalities. We need to allow women to feel comfortable in who they are."

While this might seem like a daunting task, Freud is hopeful.
