Emmy voters have officially gotten on Lee Daniels' bad side.

The Oscar-nominated director and co-creator of hit show Empire is upset that the series only got three Emmy nominations. One for was lead actress Taraji P. Henson and two were in costume categories -- but no outstanding drama, despite Fox's big campaign.

The showrunner took to Instagram, posting a candid video of him and Empire star Jussie Smollett, laughing and clearly in a silly mood.

"Jussie's saying I have to be politically correct on Instagram, that I'm going to get in trouble," Daniels says. "F**k these motherf***ers!"

He captioned it with the hashtags #CanFinallyPostThis #TimeToBeRealAgain and #EmmyNiceGuyOverWith. Given the lack of nominations, it's safe to say Daniels is officially over shaking all the hands and going to all the parties and schmoozing all the voters necessary to grease a nomination.

When it comes to awards shows, the director knows how to earn nominations. He earned two Oscar nods in 2009 for directing and co-producing Precious, and famously distanced himself from Oscar winner Mo'Nique because she didn't play the game.

"It's show business and you gotta play ball," he told CNN.

Looks like Daniels is done playing ball.
