Wendy Molyneux Drake loathes Entourage. But because the only thing this Bob's Burgers writer hates more than bros is pediatric cancer, she's agreed to hate-watch the Entourage movie after raising more than $10,000 for cancer research.
On Tuesday, Molyneux Drake set up a GoFundMe campaign on which supporters can donate money that will benefit CureSearch, a non-profit foundation that funds childhood cancer research, "from fellowships for Young Investigators, to game-changing support for research on the verge of becoming a new treatment, to clinical trials for children being treated today."
The GoFundMe donations also support, as Molyneux Drake writes in the campaign description, the chance to force someone to hate-watch what she's decided will be "the worst movie of the year and possibly our lifetime."
As of Thursday, she's surpassed her goal of $10,000, ensuring that she will indeed sit through two hours of, "Oh yeah!" and "Hug it out, bitch."
"Thanks to all of the terrible people I know and a bunch of awful strangers I've NEVER EVEN MET WHO CARE ABOUT CHILDREN'S CANCER, I've reached 10K in one day," she wrote after meeting her goal.
Well, I'm officially seeing Entourage. I HATE EVERYONE. http://t.co/dDpNSG8BRO— Wendy Molyneux (@WendyMolyneux) May 28, 2015
She's also promised to see the film twice should her GoFundMe reach $20,000, a feat that's looking likely considering how quickly Molyneux Drake reached her goal. It's a brave sacrifice for a noble cause.
