Eric Holder Defends Treatment of Aaron Swartz

Attorney General Eric Holder called Internet activist Aaron Swartz’s suicide “a tragedy” in address to the Senate Judiciary Committee.

Holder went on to defend the Justice Department's handling of the case against those who suggest the DOJ tried to bully Swartz into pleading guilty.

Holder detailed Swartz's proposed plea offer saying, “There was never an intention for him to go to jail for longer than a three, four, potentially five month range.”
