Event discovery service Eventful has extended its Demands feature to the Facebook Platform, enabling users to request that musicians, comedians, and other performers visit their hometown. If you have an Eventful account, the application will show the entertainers you are requesting and enable your friends to “demand it” when viewing your profile.
When you make a demand on Facebook or Eventful’s site, it will also show up in your News Feed so friends can see what artists you are requesting. For example, if I submit a demand for AFI to appear in Louisville, Kentucky, my feed will show “Adam joined the Demand for AFI in Louisville, Kentucky, USA.”
Eventful claims that more than 10,000 artists use the service to help route their tours, so creating a demand for your favorite performers to visit your city may actually have some influence. With Facebook now offering regional networks, Eventful Demand has potential to go very viral for users passionate about a specific artist.
