A huge explosion damaged a six-storey building in southern China on Thursday at 8 a.m. local time, a day after a series of mail bombs blew up in over a dozen locations in the county, killing seven and injuring 51 people, state media (link in Chinese) is reporting.

The explosion on the morning of China's National Day and the start of its "golden" weeklong holiday occurred in the rural county of Liucheng in China's Guangxi region.

The building hit Thursday was a residential block, but there haven't been reports of casualties yet.

This bomb follows a series of explosions Wednesday which killed seven people when 15 bombs concealed in courier parcels exploded, state media said.

Xinhua said (link in Chinese) the first parcels started to explode at about 3:45 p.m. local time. The blasts injured 51 people, and happened in multiple places including a train station, hospital, shopping centre and government offices.
