Embedded Flash-based music players are a growing trend, and may continue to be now that we know MySpace has no plans to charge developers. Today Amsterdam-based Fabchannel, which broadcasts and archives concerts from Paradiso and Melkweg (two major concert venues in the Netherlands) is launching a player that lets you embed a series of videos on MySpace, Piczo, Multiply, blogs and everywhere else.

After signing up and creating a playlist on the site, you can grab the html code to put those performances into a widget like the one on Fabchannel's MySpace page. Another neat viral element: you can "steal" the html from any widget to post it to your page - there's no need to visit the Fabchannel site. Artists include Ice Cube, The Datsuns, The Von Bondies, The Presidents of the United States of America and lots of other artists I'm not cool enough to know about.

But just like the MySpace music players from the likes of Sonific, Snocap, Finetune, YourSpins and ProjectOpus (yep, lots of them these days), the Fabchannel player lets you buy music, too. So it really falls somewhere between a YouTube video player and these mini music stores: perhaps YouTube will one day enable purchases of downloadable clips and even DVDs via a widget?
