Facebook has changed the way we connect with each other. Life events are often shared in status updates instead of mail or in-person and photo albums have made the leap from the coffeetable to the Timeline.

For brands and media organizations, Facebook has become a new way to interact with fans. At Mashable, we use our Facebook fan page to share stories and interact with our community -- which will soon be 1 million strong.

As we approach 1 million Facebook fans, we want to celebrate this milestone by recognizing you, our community. From connections you've made to goals you've achieved, we want to hear your Facebook stories. We're launching this series by asking: What's one Facebook connection that changed your life?

This connection could be a friend, partner, distant family member or a person who simply would be a stranger without Facebook. We want to know how Facebook helped you to connect and what impact it had on your life. The most inspired stories will be included in a follow-up post that celebrates our 1 million Facebook fans.
