Facebook may have joined the DataPortability project. But only begrudgingly.
According to an interview with the company’s CPO (Chief Privacy Officer) conducted recently by Juan Carlos Perez of IDG News Service, the social network, despite having signed on to the DataPortability workgroup, is quite concerned about the issues of privacy and security in a system philosophically designed to be so thoroughly open. And so it appears that the network is not entirely convinced of Data Portability’s real-world feasibility.
