For those of you anxiously anticipating the release of the updated Facebook profiles, it looks like you may have to wait a bit longer for them to start showing up. Justin Smith of InsideFacebook points us to a Facebook Development blog post that the popular social network is delaying the roll out of the new design to the ambiguous date of "late spring."

After the initial announcement of an impending redesign, developers scrambled to see what changes they would need to make to their applications to make their apps comply to the new layout. But amid lots and lots of feedback given to Facebook by third parties, the company opted to remain open to more comments from the development community.

Though it is delaying the release, Facebook says many planned design changes considered through these communications sessions will be implemented soon, and the company will share with developers any necessary information to transition application as smoothly as possible in advance of the rollout.
