Remember when Facebook was like chairs? Well, no more. Today, Facebook is like a swimming pool.

That's according to the social network itself, which just posted the above (rather unseasonal) picture in its Timeline. "Swimming pools are filled with people," reads the caption. "Some you know. Some you don’t.

"And every once in a while you see something that maybe you shouldn’t. That’s why swimming pools are a little like Facebook."

The odd comparison drew more than 2,000 comments in two hours, most of them containing exactly the kind of urine-based humor you'd expect. Though some did use it as an opportunity to have a dig at the social network's new "promoted posts" option.

"You don't have to pay the lifeguard to have your friends watch your tricks off the diving board," wrote Massachusetts resident Alex Mojcher.

As we know from experience, however, Facebook is like the honey badger: it just don't care. Indeed, it has embraced the parodies that followed "chairs are like Facebook," the social network's unusual first ad.

The satirical Tumblr "Are Like Facebook" cropped up after that ad; Facebook has since posted several selections to its Timeline, such as "surf rescue dogs are like Facebook."
