Although it's just a marketing ploy, designed to promote Uganda's tourism industry, the idea is cute, especially if you're the type that devours animal documentaries and want to know more about the lifestyle of gorillas. According to Wildlife Authority spokeswoman Lillian Nsubuga, "Through geo-tracking and GPS, you'll be able to get information about new births within the family and other information." You'll also be able to watch live footage from one of the cameras that'll be installed around Uganda's Bwindi Impenetrable Forest, where about 740 mountain gorillas reside.

So, if you expected wild parties and pictures of gorillas chugging beer, you're likely to be disappointed; for that you'll have to check the profiles of your other Facebook friends. But for those wanting some insight into the life of one of the most endangered species in the world, it's a treat. What's in it for the gorillas? Apparently, not that much, if you don't count the huge amount of Facebook followers they'll likely receive soon.
