Facebook Tests Photo Sync For iOS [VIDEO]

iOS users may have reason to rejoice -- seamless photo syncing to Facebook is on its way.

Facebook confirmed to TechCrunch that it is testing apps to allow photos taken on an iOS device to be instantly uploaded to a private Facebook album. Earlier this year Facebook tested the same feature for Android users.

Google+ added a similar feature, Instant Upload, for its iOS app in February 2012.

Facebook’s synced photo album will be able to hold 2GB of images.

The company is only releasing this option to a small group of users at this time. If you have the option, you'll be able to choose Photo Sync from inside the photos app on the left side navigation bar, or inside the photos section on your Timeline.

Photo Sync significantly simplifies the process of uploading camera photos but, moreover, acts like a cloud service, backing up your data in case your phone is lost or damaged.
