Facebook has cleared up how the new app ranking system for Facebook applications will work and how it differs from the current ranking that is based solely on the total number of users.
From midnight to midnight each day, they will now measure how many times an app is "engaged"; that is how many users a day touch the application. The touch points are defined as:
- Canvas Page Views
- Link Clicks in FBML
- Mock-Ajax Form Submission
- Click-to-Play Flash
