Did you know that Facebook is a word? I mean, we all know it's a word, but now Facebook is actually a "word" word. The word Facebook has been added to the 2008 edition of the Collins English Dictionary, as both a noun and a verb. Double whammy for Facebook!

And it only gets better. The words "pimp" and "poke" are, in some cases, being revised for their definitions as well, in relation to Facebook. The word "pimp" means to make your page more attractive, while "poke" is a way of getting someone's attention. OK, the understanding of "poke" on Facebook is just one of those unspoken, rights of passage for new, unassuming users. It's also the tool of choice for hormone-raging, bold college students looking for some attention of their own.

The revision of the "poke" definition in relationship to Facebook makes sense. But why "pimp?" How attractive can you really make your Facebook profile, and why change "pimp" in regards to Facebook but not MySpace? Looks like MySpace gets no poking love here. Does this make "googled" a synonym of "facebooked?"
