HTC First With Facebook Home Debuts April 12

It's a bird, it's a plane, it's the Facebook phone! OK, so Facebook isn't making a phone per se, but the company's new Facebook Home Android experience will coming to a brand new phone from HTC, the HTC First.

This is the first Facebook Home optimized phone in the world. It will debut on April 12, 2013 for $99.99, exclusive to AT&T. It will be available in four colors (black, white, red and pale blue) and is designed to be big, but not too big.

HTC calls it "the best Facebook experience" and the "only phone with Facebook Home pre-loaded and optimized." These optimizations mean that notifications for emails and calendars will come built-in to Facebook Home. It's also the first phone to ship with Instagram pre-loaded.

While HTC and AT&T didn't get into the full specs of the phone, this is what the press release reveals:

4.3-inch glass display

Runs Android 4.1 Jelly Bean with the new Facebook Home experience

Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor with a dual-core CPU

AT&T's 4G LTE

In other words, this is a mid-level smartphone (by Android spec standards), customized with Facebook Home. You can pre-order the HTC First now at ATT.com
