Facebook has sometimes had rough patches when it comes to performance, but this last one seems to be lasting longer than usual. According to anecdotal evidence, users with lots of friends and applications seem to be affected the most, many of them completely unable to access their profiles (some claim it's been that way for over a week). Personally, I have under 100 friends and I have been able to open my profile, but it has been painfully slow at times.
