It was only a matter of time. Facebook will be rolling out its Timeline format to most members by the fall, according to sources close to the situation.

The social network aims to have members switched to Timeline in the next few months to make the experience consistent across the site.

Although Facebook made Timeline available in December to users in one click who wanted to opt in, the company announced in January that it would be making a greater push to introduce it to introduce it to randomly selected members. The site implemented a seven-day preview period for users to hide or edit content before receiving the format.

In addition, millions of people switched to Timeline on their own terms each week. Soon enough, all remaining Facebook members will have the latest version.

Users will still have seven days to curate their Timelines, and this clock will depend on the rollout and when they log in.

Nothing will change with user's privacy settings when switching to Timeline.
