Your personal Facebook page is probably filled with wedding and baby photos.
But the year was filled with more important things, which Facebook shared in its 2015 Year in Review. The company measured how frequently various topics were mentioned in posts between Jan. 1 and Dec. 1 to rank top 10 lists, ranging from the most discussed global issues to the most noteworthy movies.

Around the world
Tragedy struck nations around the world, from the Syrian refugee crisis to a massive 7.8-magnitude earthquake in Nepal to the Charleston shooting to the Paris terror attacks. Yet the U.S. presidential election took the No. 1 spot, even though there's nearly a year until Election Day.
In the U.S.
While the U.S. presidential election also ranked No. 1 in this category, people were also talking about Star Wars (duh) and the Super Bowl.
Politics
With the 2016 election topping the lists, it's no surprise that four U.S. political leaders were in the top of the list. Two politicians from Brazil made it to the list, including Brazilian President Dilma Rousseff, who is embroiled in an impeachment fight. American and Brazilian leaders were followed by those in India, Turkey, Nigeria and Israel.
Athletes
In May, Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao stepped into the ring for what was one of the most anticipated fights in boxing history. Mayweather defeated Pacquiao -- just as he did here on Facebook's list of most-discussed athletes. Former UFC Women's Bantamweight Champion Ronda Rousey ranked No. 3 and is only one of two women in the group; the other is Serena Williams.
Facebook also ranked the most checked-in places as well as entertainers, movies, TV shows and new games.
A powerful two-minute video captures the most moving moments of the year, from #IStandWithAhmed to #BlackLivesMatter, and ends with a call to action: "Let's stand together in 2016."
