Fake piercings give wearers that tough edge without the painful needles and commitment that come with the real deal.

Actor and former model Cara Delevingne was recently spotted sporting a ring on her bottom lip at two separate events in London. She opted for the temporary option, wearing a clip-on version by Established Jewelry.

Delevingne is not the first influencer to dabble in fake jewelry -- especially lip rings.

Lady Gaga donned the faux piercing for an Instagram pic in July.

This past April, Rihanna wore an embellished ring attached to a gold grill over her bottom teeth.

The hardware can even translate to makeup. Painted gold lip lines appeared at Dries Van Notten's spring 2015 fashion show last September.

Regardless how you wear them, temporary piercings are staking their claim on social media, popping up in selfies everywhere.

While clip on jewelry is nothing new, there's also been a rise in fake nose and septum piercings thanks to trendsetters like Riri and Kendall Jenner.

If you hate commitment but want to test out the face jewelry trend, shop for affordable versions on Etsy and Amazon. If you'd rather splurge on Delevingne's exact style, be prepared to shell out $805.
