You have to hand it to Daniel Lyons, the man behind Fake Steve Jobs, he sure knows how to work the tech blogosphere up in to a froth.
As we reported yesterday, Mr. Lyons was claiming to have been contacted by Apple about shutting down, ala what happened to Think Secret this week. Since he stepped out of character for this "news", it seemed a bit more believable, but I still "went out on a limb" (much to Pete's chagrin as he said I could just call it what it is) and said it was a marketing ploy.
Seeing as there has been two more posts today, each one getting more outlandish in the telling of this tale, there should be no doubt left that the folks who believed this got suckered. As Robert Scoble so accurately pointed out, "Serves you right for believing a single thing that Fake Steve Jobs writes. The dude is FAKE. Get it?"
