Are you ready for some fresh Fallout 4 footage?

Maybe "fresh" isn't the right word. If the footage looks familiar, that's because it's what screened during Microsoft's E3 2015 press briefing. But here it is again, broken out into its own thing by Bethesda Softworks and available to pick apart on YouTube in glorious HD.

Less of a grand overview than Bethesda's own press conference reveal was, this set of clips gives a taste of what looks to be the early game. It opens with your first steps into Fallout 4's nuclear-blasted Boston-area hellscape and continues with peeks at your canine companion Dogmeat, the return of VATS combat (which slows down the action and allows you to target specific body parts) and a brawl with one of the game's fearsome Deathclaw enemies.

All of the action bits appear to be part of a mission chain that involves saving a small community of survivors from marauding bandits and other dangers. You can see some new weapons, including a laser musket and a beefy minigun that's so heavy you need powered armor to lift it.
