Famesource is Digg for Talent

Famesource, which just launched, is a new social network for artists who would like a platform strictly for self promotion. Upload music and photos, or embed a YouTube video in any of Famesource's artistic categories ranging from comedy to modeling. They've also added a Digg-like voting feature that will send users into fame or shame. You can even donate to your favorite artists.

Meanwhile, you can post media to other sites using easy-access links to del.icio.us, furl and all the rest, as well as the embed code for videos and podcasts.

Famesource would benefit from a filter and ranking system, such as that used by Metacafe. A lot of the media on the site is irrelevant and won't be taken seriously. Famesource could use some high quality content in order to be successful and draw in more users that would be most likely to benefit from their service. Perhaps a "fame or shame" voting widget to accompany their embeddable material could be fun as well. For now, it seems like a forgettable entrant into a market that's quickly becoming crowded.
