Critics aren't happy with the new Fantastic Four, but neither is the film's own director.

Director Josh Trank, who helmed the new superhero reboot, tweeted out his displeasure with the film, which is currently sitting at 10% on Rotten Tomatoes. He sent out a simple, defensive tweet that clearly alluded to his film and all the things it could have been.

Then, like many celebrities who send out ill-advised tweets, he deleted it. But not before Mike Ryan of Uproxx took a screenshot.

And Josh Trank deleted his tweet. Good news, I still have it. The oral history lives: pic.twitter.com/AnZQ6ilM9r— Mike Ryan (@mikeryan) August 7, 2015

All we have now are the 'woulda, coulda, shouldas' of the film. Critics have been bashing it for being a slow, boring reimagining of the famed superhero quartet. Despite an exciting cast comprised of Kate Mara, Michael B. Jordan, Jamie Bell and Miles Teller (who might be a dick?), it doesn't look like Fantastic Four is going to be a summer slam.

Hey, maybe the Fantastic Four franchise is just cursed, okay? The last two films to star the superhero squad were also fantastic flops.
