LOS ANGELES -- Could this be our first look at Michael Fassbender as the NeXT Steve Jobs?

Instagram user @seannung on Tuesday posted this photo of a poster purportedly showing the 12 Years a Slave actor as Jobs in an ad, presumably used for background at some point in the upcoming Steve Jobs movie.

We've seen pictures of Fassbender dressed as Jobs alongside Seth Rogen, who plays Steve Wozniak. But this appears to be our first look at Fassbender actually imitating the Apple co-founder.

Universal Pictures hasn't responded to Mashable's inquiry as to the photo's authenticity, and also haven't made a move to pull it down. So until we hear anything from them, we'll leave it up to you to judge:

Universal announced in early February that the biopic, written by Aaron Sorkin and directed by Danny Boyle (Slumdog Millionaire), will hit theaters on Oct. 9, 2015 — just seven months away. With shooting under way, it's certainly possible that someone smuggled out the image.

Fassbender will play Jobs mostly backstage during three separate product launches, including the NeXT, which he founded in 1985 after he was forced out of Apple. The NeXT computer was introduced 1988, and though it's noted for influential design, didn't sell all that well.
