LONDON -- Fat Cat Tuesday, the designation given to the day in which top executives will have made more money than Britain's average salary for a year, raises many issues for debate and discussion.
Is the government doing enough to tackle rising inequality? Is the pay gap dangerous to the long-term fabric of British society?
Or it can just be an excuse to post more pictures of cats on Twitter.
Did you know that today is #FatCatTuesday? Well, we are not fat, we are fluffy! pic.twitter.com/xP2s2MJnOz— Smiley Planet (@Cheer_up_Pics) January 5, 2016
The Internet turned the analysis from the High Pay Centre think tank that Britain's top chief executives' pay would pass the average UK worker's wage by late afternoon Tuesday into an endless feed of cat pictures.
Some were using cats to make their point.
