LONDON -- If you ever needed proof of just how seriously some people people take football, look no further than the letter an Australian woman sent in to a magazine recently.

Since being published, Clare Smith's fairly unusual story of how her little girl came to be named "Lanesra" has quickly made the rounds of UK social media.

Unsurprisingly, the father's name-based trickery has gone down well with Arsenal fans.

Other football supporters were quick to join in, too.

Looks like there may be a spike in children being named Lanesra in the UK.

To be fair, Lanesra is a really nice name https://t.co/OGnQHu4gBS— Jack (@JackGood9) January 4, 2016
