The last thing 87-year-old Duane Schrock, Sr. expected to see in his mailbox was a card from his son, but the most important messages always find their way.

Schrock received a Father's Day card a full 26 years after being postmarked from his son, Duane Schrock Jr., who died of AIDS in 1995 at the age of 45. According to WSET, Schrock "didn't agree with his son's homosexual lifestyle -- and their relationship was, at times, tumultuous."

The sweet card from Schrock Jr. said, "Dear, Dad, we haven't been in touch for quite a while, I'm doing fine and am very happy in Richmond, I'd like to hear from you. Have a Happy Father's Day, Love Duane."

Despite the late delivery, Schrock Sr., isn't mad at the post office -- which apparently kept the card in circulation for nearly three decades. Instead, he's just happy it arrived.
