Family drama meets the apocalypse in AMC's Fear the Walking Dead, the companion series to the TV giant known as The Walking Dead.
It premieres Sunday, but the network has made the pilot's first tense minutes available for viewing a few days early.

In the clip, a man (played by Frank Dillane) wakes up in a seedy, addict-filled abandoned church, only to realize something is awry -- he's surrounded by a bunch of dead people.
Not the walking dead. Just ... dead dead.
The rest plays out like a scene from those Walking Dead-themed nightmares we've all had before.
But that's just the beginning.
You'll learn more about Dillane's character in the premiere -- but suffice it to say, he has his share of demons. And he's not the only one in his family with some problems.
The series premieres Sunday at 9 p.m. ET on AMC.
