This is Frank Dillane. He plays Nick Clark, the eldest teenage son of Kim Dickens' Madison -- and a guy who has major issues.

On the series, Nick and his fractured family find themselves thrust into the crazy zombie-fest we know and love from The Walking Dead at a wildly inconvenient time. Their family, you see, is in the throes of some internal drama that's not exclusive to a zombie-infested world.

"He's in something of a bad way when we first meet him," executive producer Dave Erikson teased at Comic-Con last week. "What's interesting -- about all of the characters, but Nick in particular -- is...the things that make it difficult for him to function may or may not serve him well when the apocalypse comes."

AMC is pumping up promotion for the spin-off as the Aug. 23 premiere date approaches. This photo of Dillane is among several new character images that will be released Tuesday.

You're seeing this one first on Mashable.

More photos will be posted later in the day.
