FedEx Responds to Viral Video of Driver Throwing Packages

Leave it to FedEx to post a speedy response to a possible social media PR crisis.

Shortly after a video of a driver throwing packages hit the Internet, the company posted a video featuring Shannon A. Brown, the company's SVP of human resources, explaining that the driver in the video is "no longer working for FedEx."

Brown doesn't specify which video he was responding to, but a FedEx rep confirmed it was this one:

In light of recent social media blow-ups from Taco Bell and Golden Corral, FedEx's response is notable for its alacrity, which may have minimized a potential social media catastrophe along the lines of United Breaks Guitars, a viral video that besmirched that airline's name in 2009.
