Feedburner Loses Team Member to BuzzFeed

FeedBurner, which was just acquired by Google this past summer, is losing one of its team members already.

Eric Olson is leaving Google and the FeedBurner team to join BuzzFeed, an NYC start up that launched late last year and does not yet have funding. BuzzFeed has little to do with feeds, but is actually a hub for premium web content, hand-picked by a team of editors. The goal is to bring you a daily list of the up and coming from the web's popularity contest. It's the user's job to then promote these great websites and further spread the word. It's been likened to a mix between Digg and Mahalo, and does latch onto the current trend of utilizing human filters to cut through the noise.

Olson will serve as BuzzFeed's Vice President of Business Development, which basically means he'll be wearing a lot of hats for the start-up.
