Fenton Doggie Meme 'Remastered' to Promote Broadband Firm [VIDEO]

Exactly a year ago, a video of a man chasing his dog and excitedly yelling the dog's name became one of the most unlikely viral videos of all time, racking up more than 7 million views.

Now, perhaps inevitably, the meme is being put to use for advertising purposes. EE, a European broadband firm, has "remastered" Fenton (actually "Benton"). Instead of a handful of red deer, Fenton is now chasing a whole herd of them plus a dinosaur. The scene ends with the caption, "YouTube is Epic on Superfast #4GEE."

According to

4GEE's co-opting of a meme comes one day after Samsung hired Overly Attached Girlfriend, another Reddit-based meme, to attempt to work her viral magic for the company's SSDs.
