Ferrari's Hybrid Supercar Reaches 62 MPH in 3 Seconds

Ferrari has launched a V12-powered hybrid supercar with a 789-horsepower gasoline engine and a 160-horsepower electric motor.

The Ferrari LaFerrari, as it's called, goes from 0 to 62 mph in less than three seconds (Ferrari's numbers) and has a top speed of 205 mph.

The car's electric motor is highly efficient at low speeds, and its gasoline counterpart reaches full efficiency at high speeds, according to Ferrari.

And if you're worried about flying off the road, don't worry: the LaFerrari employs "active aerodynamics," meaning its spoilers and flaps automatically deploy when needed, providing the extra downforce to keep the car on the road.

Only 499 of these babies will be built, and the price has not yet been announced.
