LONDON -- Sepp Blatter's and Michel Platini's suspensions from FIFA couldn't have come on a better day for creative, sensitive football fans: National Poetry Day.

In a happy meeting of hashtags, fans of the beautiful game expressed their dismay (and vitriol) over the never-ending saga at football's world governing body.

On Thursday, President Blatter and UEFA President Platini were suspended for 90 days. In the criminal case, Blatter is accused of misusing FIFA funds by making a $2 million payment to Platini. He has denied wrongdoing. It's the latest development in an unfolding scandal which was kicked off when the U.S. charged 14 FIFA officials with racketeering and bribery in May of this year.
